Maruti began with the iconic Maruti 800 in 1983, the car that put India on wheels, and has led the market ever since. Its range today runs from the entry-level Alto K10, S-Presso and WagonR through best-sellers like the Swift, Baleno, Dzire, Brezza and Ertiga, up to the premium Grand Vitara, Invicto, XL6 and the Jimny off-roader. Cars are sold through two retail channels — the mass-market Arena network and the premium Nexa network that retails the Baleno, Fronx, Grand Vitara, XL6, Invicto and Jimny.

The company manufactures at Gurugram and Manesar in Haryana and at its Suzuki Motor Gujarat plant in Hansalpur, with combined capacity well over 2.3 million units a year — among the largest of any single carmaker in India. It is also the country's biggest passenger-vehicle exporter, shipping models to Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and neighbouring Asian markets.

Maruti Suzuki leads India in fuel-saving technology: its S-CNG bi-fuel range is the country's broadest, and its strong-hybrid Grand Vitara and Invicto (co-developed with Toyota) deliver class-leading mileage, with the all-electric e-Vitara marking its EV debut. Backed by the country's largest sales and service network — thousands of outlets and workshops reaching deep into rural India — and a reputation for the lowest running costs and strongest resale value, Maruti remains the default choice for millions of first-time and value-conscious buyers.
