Ferrari in India
Ferrari is the Italian supercar maker founded by Enzo Ferrari at Maranello, where every road car it sells is still built. The marque opened its first official Indian dealership in New Delhi in 2011 and today sells through Select Cars in Delhi and Bengaluru and Navnit Motors in Mumbai. Every car reaches India as a fully built import, so prices sit in crores rather than lakhs.
The India range covers four shapes. Front engined grand tourers in the Roma, Portofino and Amalfi Spider. Mid engined hybrids in the 296 GTB and its 296 GTS convertible. The V8 F8 Tributo. And the Purosangue, the first four door Ferrari, which the company positions against luxury SUVs without calling it one.
Powertrains run from the 3.9 litre twin turbo V8 in the Roma and Portofino to the 3.0 litre V6 plug in hybrid in the 296, which pairs a petrol engine with an electric motor for a combined output above 800 bhp. The 849 Testarossa sits at the top of the range.
Ferrari does not publish downloadable brochures for most models, and cars are specified individually through its configurator, so trim structure in India is closer to a single build with an options list than the variant ladders used by mass market brands.
