If you were about to book a Maruti Suzuki Fronx Sigma or the top Alpha turbo-AT, the deal just got ₹5,000 costlier. But here's the twist. Maruti left the Delta and Delta Plus trims, the ones most families actually buy, completely untouched. The Fronx now spans ₹6.90 lakh to ₹12.03 lakh ex-showroom.
Which Fronx variants got costlier, and which didn't?
Maruti has been smart about where it put the knife. The base Sigma (both petrol and CNG manual) is up by ₹5,000. So are the mid-spec Zeta and the top Alpha, plus every turbo-petrol manual and automatic. But the Delta and Delta Plus trims, across manual, AMT, and CNG, carry on at their old prices. That matters because Delta and Delta Plus are the volume sellers. If you're buying in that sweet spot, this hike doesn't touch you at all.
New Fronx price list: ₹6.90L to ₹12.03L (old vs. new)
Here's how the money reads now, ex-showroom. Sigma petrol MT: ₹6.85L → ₹6.90L. Sigma CNG: ₹7.89L → ₹7.94L. Delta MT ₹7.75L, Delta AMT ₹8.25L, Delta Plus MT ₹8.15L, and Delta Plus AMT ₹8.65L, all unchanged. Zeta Turbo MT ₹9.71L and Zeta AT ₹10.99L are each up ₹5,000. Alpha turbo MT (₹10.56L and ₹10.70L) and Alpha turbo AT (₹11.84L) also rise by ₹5,000. No features or specs have changed, only the sticker.

SUVWhere the ₹5,000 hurts most: Sigma CNG and Alpha turbo-AT
In percentage terms, the sting is sharpest at the bottom. On the ₹6.90 lakh Sigma, ₹5,000 is a bigger slice than on the ₹11.84 lakh Alpha. First-time buyers who are watching every rupee will feel it more. At the top, the Alpha turbo-AT, crossing ₹11.84 lakh, pushes the Fronx firmly past the ₹11.5 lakh mark for a sub-4-meter SUV. The CNG buyer loses a bit of the running-cost advantage too, with the Sigma CNG now at ₹7.94 lakh. Still, ₹5,000 is a small amount when spread over a loan.
Fronx rivals: how Magnite, Punch, Exter, and Kiger compare
The Fronx competes in a crowded sub-4m space. The Nissan Magnite runs ₹5.69–11.16 lakh, the Tata Punch ₹5.75–10.77 lakh, the Hyundai Exter ₹5.81–10.43 lakh, and the Renault Kiger ₹5.81–10.4 lakh. So the Fronx starts higher and stretches further up. Take the turbo-automatic choice: the Fronx Alpha turbo-AT at ₹11.84 lakh now sits ₹68,000 above the Magnite's top-spec ₹11.16 lakh. The Fronx answers with a proven 1.0L turbo making 99 bhp and 148 Nm (that's pulling power), plus Maruti's cheaper servicing and huge resale pull.
Should you buy now or wait? EMI and timing
For the untouched Delta and Delta Plus buyers, there's nothing to wait for; the price is the same today as last week. For Sigma, Zeta, and Alpha buyers, ₹5,000 works out to roughly ₹100 extra a month on a typical 5-year loan. That's not worth losing sleep over. Maruti usually trims these hikes with festive-season discounts, so ask your dealer for the current cash and exchange offers, which vary by city and stock. Remember these are ex-showroom numbers. Your on-road price adds road tax, registration, and insurance and varies by state.
