BRAND BREAKDOWN
Maruti Suzuki Units 1,81,838 YoY +36.9% Share —
- •Domestic PV dispatches of 1,81,838 units, up 36.9% year-on-year from 1,32,820 — a new monthly record, and 2.7% above August's 1,76,971.
- •Utility vehicles did the heavy lifting at 78,911 units against 48,695 a year ago, up 62%; passenger cars added 91,887 (from 74,090) and the Eeco van 11,040 (from 10,035).
- •Beyond the domestic PV line, Super Carry LCVs added 3,414, supplies to other OEMs 6,542 and exports a record 44,219, taking total sales to 2,36,013, up 24.4% on September 2025.
Tata Motors Units 68,810 YoY +15.3% Share —
- •Domestic passenger vehicle sales of 68,810 units, up 15.3% from 59,667 a year ago and 5.5% above August's 65,253 — enough to hold second place over Mahindra by 4,718 units.
- •Electric vehicles reached 15,384 units including international sales, up 67% on the 9,191 of September 2025; across the July-September quarter EVs were 23% of Tata's passenger vehicle volume.
- •Exports added 1,400 units (up 13%), taking total PV sales to 70,210. Quarterly PV sales of 2,01,723 were 40% ahead of the same quarter last year.
Mahindra Units 64,092 YoY +14.0% Share —
- •Domestic utility vehicle dispatches of 64,092 units, up 14% from 56,233 in September 2025 and 8.2% above August's 59,257 — the brand's best month so far this year.
- •Exports slipped 7% to 4,019 units while commercial vehicles added 30,420; total automotive sales were 1,14,874, up 15%.
Hyundai Units 57,166 YoY +10.9% Share —
- •Domestic sales of 57,166 units, up 10.9% from 51,547 a year ago and 5.1% above August's 54,396.
- •Exports of 20,750 (up 10.4%) lifted total sales to 77,916, Hyundai's highest-ever monthly figure. Only the domestic number is counted on this page.
Kia Units 32,017 YoY +41.0% Share —
- •Domestic wholesale of 32,017 units, up 41% from 22,700 in September 2025 and 10.2% above August's 29,042 — Kia's highest monthly figure since it entered India.
- •January-September sales reached 2,53,008 units. The Seltos and Sonet remain the core of the volume, with the Carens Clavis, the new Sorento and the Syros EV adding to it.
Toyota Units 25,027 YoY -7.6% Share —
- •Domestic sales of 25,027 units, down 7.6% from 27,089 in September 2025 and 11.9% below August's 28,410.
- •Exports of 3,191 (from 4,002) took the total to 28,218 against 31,091 a year ago. January-September domestic sales are still 9% ahead at 2,69,619 units.
MG Units 8,018 YoY +19.2% Share —
- •Sales of 8,018 units, up 19% from 6,728 a year ago and 6.8% above August's 7,508.
Honda Units 4,465 YoY -15.8% Share —
- •Domestic dispatches of 4,465 units, down 15.8% from 5,303 in September 2025 and 17.1% below August's 5,385.
- •Exports fell 10.9% to 2,490 (from 2,793), taking total wholesale to 6,955 against 8,096 a year ago. The July-September quarter was still 20.2% ahead on domestic volume at 15,864 units, ahead of the new Elevate's launch.
Renault Units 3,399 YoY -20.3% Share —
- •Domestic wholesale of 3,399 units, down 20.3% from 4,265 a year ago but 19.6% above August's 2,842 — one of only two brands here to grow month on month.
- •January-September domestic sales stand at 35,378 units.
Nissan Units 3,300 YoY +99.8% Share —
- •Domestic wholesale of 3,300 units, double the 1,652 of September 2025, on the Tekton, Magnite and Gravite; 3.7% below August's 3,426.
- •Exports of 6,725 remain the larger share of the business, taking total wholesale to 10,025 units.

Numbers are passenger vehicle (PV) OEM wholesale dispatches for September 2026 unless otherwise noted. This page currently shows only the manufacturers that have published their September figures; it is updated as the rest report, and the industry total is withheld until all of them are in. No manufacturer has published a model-wise split for September yet; they usually land 8 to 22 days after month end and each brand's pie is added here the day it does. Mahindra's figure is domestic utility vehicles. Vahan registrations and FADA retail figures are compiled on a different basis and will not match. Three-wheeler and commercial vehicle sales are tracked separately and are not included here.
