About the GLC EV
The Mercedes-Benz GLC EV is the electric version of the GLC, Mercedes-Benz's best-selling SUV. It was unveiled on 10 September 2026, bookings open from 2 October 2026, and an India launch is expected around the end of November 2026. Mercedes has not announced Indian prices.
Expert Take — should you wait for it?
The GLC is the car that made the segment for Mercedes in India, so the electric one matters more than the EQ-badged models that came before it. The 715 km claim is the headline, but the number to wait for is the Indian ARAI figure and, more importantly, the price. At ₹80 lakh it competes with the BMW iX and the EQE SUV; if Mercedes lands it nearer ₹75 lakh it becomes very hard to argue with. Bookings opening on 2 October means the first allocation will move before anyone has driven it here, which is the usual pattern for this badge.
