India's passenger vehicle market posted its biggest month yet in July 2026 — 4,63,249 units, up 33.6% year-on-year and 18.2% over June as OEMs filled the pipeline ahead of the festive season. Maruti Suzuki clocked its highest-ever month at 1,96,203 units, and Tata Motors held #2 by just 2,563 units over Mahindra. JSW MG Motor Units 8,158 YoY +22.2% Share 1.8% ↓
- •Highest-ever monthly wholesales for the second month running — 8,158 units, up 22% YoY.
- •EVs made up over 80% of the month, led by Windsor, Comet and ZS EV.
- •Hector, Astor and the new Majestor held up the ICE side of the range.
Honda Units 6,014 YoY +48.5% Share 1.3% ↓
- •Domestic dispatches up 48% YoY to 6,014 units — the fastest growth outside Nissan and Tata.
- •Amaze stayed the volume anchor, with the Elevate continuing its recovery.
- •The new ZR-V began deliveries during the month with 58 units dispatched.
Skoda Units 5,710 YoY +2.8% Share 1.2% ↓
- •Up a modest 2.8% YoY to 5,710 units, and down 8% on June — one of the few OEMs to lose ground month-on-month.
- •Kylaq continues to anchor volumes alongside Kushaq, Slavia and Kodiaq.
Nissan Units 4,518 YoY +218.2% Share 1.0% ↑

- •Up 28% YoY but down 19% on June — the sharpest month-on-month fall among the majors.
- •Duster and Triber remain the volume drivers of the refreshed line-up.
Volkswagen Units 2,715 YoY -15.5% Share 0.6% ↓
- •The only brand in the top 12 to fall year-on-year, down 15.5% to 2,715 units.
- •Still recovered 10% on June, with Virtus and Taigun carrying the range.
Citroën Units 835 YoY +69.0% Share 0.2% ↓
- •Up 69% YoY off a small base to 835 units, though down 5% on June.
- •C3 and Basalt continue to account for most of the brand's volume.
Jeep Units 218 YoY -13.1% Share 0.0% ↓
- •Smallest volume on the board at 218 units, down 13% YoY and 9% on June.
- •Compass and Meridian remain niche plays in the premium SUV space.
