6. Sharing Your Information With Car Dealers

This is the most important disclosure in this policy, so we have set it out plainly. When you submit an enquiry form on this website — a price request, an offer request, a test-drive booking or a general enquiry — we share the details you provide with one or more authorised dealers for the car you enquired about.

What we share with the dealer:

• Your name
• Your mobile number
• Your email address, where you provide one
• The car model you enquired about, and your city, where provided

Why we share it:

• So the dealer can contact you with pricing, offers or availability
• So the dealer can arrange a test drive where you asked for one
• Because this is how the website is funded — we may receive a referral fee from the dealer. You never pay us anything, and this does not affect our editorial reviews or rankings.

What this means for you: after you submit an enquiry, you should expect a dealer representative to contact you by phone, SMS or WhatsApp, usually within one to two working days. By submitting the form you consent to being contacted in this way.

Once your details reach a dealer, that dealer becomes an independent data controller and its own privacy policy applies to how it uses your information. We do not control the dealer's use of your data, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Withdrawing consent: you can ask us to stop sharing your details at any time by writing to info@mywheelsexpert.com. We will stop passing your details to any further dealers. Please note that we cannot recall information already shared with a dealer — for that you will need to contact the dealer directly, and you may also register with the national Do Not Disturb (DND) service through your telecom provider.

7. Vehicle Registration Numbers (Car Insurance)

On our car insurance pages we show a box where you can enter your vehicle registration number. If you enter a registration number and press the button, we store that number. Entering it is entirely optional — you can reach the same insurance offers by using the link beside the box instead, and nothing is stored if you do.

What we store when you submit the box:

• Your vehicle registration number
• The state code and registration format taken from that number
• The page you submitted it from
• The campaign source, if you arrived from an advertisement or a link we ran

We do not ask for your name, phone number or email address at this box, and we do not collect them there. The registration number is stored in a spreadsheet hosted on Google Workspace, operated by Google LLC, and is accessible only to My Wheels Expert staff.

What we do not do with it:

• We do not send your registration number to the insurers. When you continue to an insurer, only the fact that you came from us is passed on. The insurer's own page will ask you for the registration number again, and what you enter there is governed by that insurer's privacy policy, not ours.
• We do not put the registration number into our analytics. Our analytics receive only the state code and the format of the number, never the number itself.
• We do not sell it, and we do not share it with car dealers.
• We do not use it to look up your name, address or any other record held by the RTO or any vehicle database.

Why we store it: to understand which vehicles people are seeking insurance for, so we can improve these pages and the offers we list.

Deletion: write to info@mywheelsexpert.com with the registration number you entered and we will delete the record. Because we hold no contact details alongside it, the number itself is what lets us find and remove the right row.

8. Affiliate Disclosure

My Wheels Expert may participate in affiliate marketing programs. If users click affiliate links and make purchases, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to the user. These commissions help support the website and content creation.

This includes our car insurance pages. We are not an insurance company, agent or broker: we list insurers we refer visitors to, and we may receive a referral fee from an insurer if you take out a policy after following one of our links. You never pay more because of it.

9. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, policies, or content of third-party websites. Users should review the privacy policies of those websites before providing personal information.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable security measures to protect user information. However, no internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

My Wheels Expert is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If such information is discovered, it will be removed promptly.

12. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or for as long as the law requires us to keep it.

• Registration numbers entered in the car insurance box are kept until you ask us to delete yours, or until we no longer need them to improve those pages.
• Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics.
• Where we are required to retain records for tax, accounting or legal purposes, we keep them for the period prescribed by the applicable law.

When information is no longer required, we delete it or irreversibly anonymise it.

13. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and other applicable law, you may:

• Request access to your personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Withdraw a consent you previously gave us, at any time
• Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity
• Opt out of marketing communications

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timelines set by applicable law. Note that withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out on the basis of that consent.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
