Tata Tiago NRG

Beyond the tougher styling, the NRG keeps the Tiago's practical, value-focused character with a touchscreen infotainment system, connected features and an easy-to-drive city-friendly footprint.

The Tata Tiago NRG is the rugged, crossover-inspired avatar of the Tiago hatchback, built on a single XZ trim dressed up with NRG styling: silver roof rails, Cosmo Grain textured wheel-arch cladding, faux skid plates, NRG decals, tri-arrow design and turn indicators mounted on the wheel-arch claddings. It measures 3804 mm long, 1677 mm wide and 1537 mm tall on a 2400 mm wheelbase, with 181 mm of unladen ground clearance, a 242-litre boot and seating for five. Power comes from a 1.2L three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine making 85 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 3300 rpm (ARAI 20.09 kmpl), or a twin-cylinder 1.2L iCNG unit producing 74 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 96.5 Nm @ 3500 rpm running on CNG with petrol as the alternate fuel and a 60-litre (water-capacity) CNG tank. Each powertrain is offered with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, the iCNG AMT making it one of India's first CNG-AMT hatchbacks, with direct-start-in-CNG and a single advanced ECU. The XZ trim is well equipped for its price: a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four speakers, voice command, reverse parking camera with rear sensors, automatic LED headlamps, manual air-conditioning, keyless entry with push-button start, all-four power windows and a fabric cabin. Safety covers dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, traction control, hill-hold control and ISOFIX anchorages, with the Tiago carrying a 4-star Global NCAP rating. Suspension is an independent lower-wishbone McPherson strut up front and a twist-beam with coil springs at the rear, with front disc and rear drum brakes, on 175/60 R15 tyres. The Tiago NRG is backed by a 3-year / 1 lakh km warranty.
