The Harrier is Tata's flagship five-seat SUV, on a Land Rover-derived platform, and it is aimed at cars like the Hyundai Creta and MG Hector. The 2.0-litre diesel makes about 168 bhp and 280 Nm, with manual and automatic gearboxes. A turbo-petrol has since been added to the range.
It has real road presence and a premium cabin, with a large portrait touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof and ADAS on higher trims. It holds a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, and there is a fully electric Harrier EV.
The Tata Harrier is a flagship 5-seat SUV built on the OMEGARC architecture, offered with two 168 bhp turbocharged engines: a 1.5L Hyperion Turbo GDI petrol making 280 Nm and a 2.0L Kryotec turbocharged diesel making 350 Nm. Both pair with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic with paddle shifters, driving the front wheels. Top trims add a Level 2+ ADAS suite with 20 functions including AEB, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and Intelligent Speed Assist, plus a 360-degree surround view system from Pure X onwards. Inside, the cabin steps up to a 36.9 cm Samsung Neo QLED touchscreen, a 26.03 cm digital cluster, a JBL 10-speaker system, a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control and a gesture-controlled powered tailgate. Premium compact SUV that delivers where it counts most
SUV · ₹13.00–26.11 lakh · Petrol · Diesel
“The Harrier is a well-rounded package that pairs muscular engines with a safe platform and impressive tech integration. While efficiency and powertrain refinement lag segment expectations, the Fearless Ultra trim justifies its price with full ADAS, premium cabin kit, and a commanding 168 bhp performance envelope that rarely feels underpowered on Indian roads.
