The new Audi A5 is expected in India around March 2027 at ₹75-78 lakh, replacing the A4 as Audi's entry sedan under the brand's revised naming structure where even numbers denote electric cars and odd numbers combustion. It is built on the PPC platform with mild-hybrid petrol power. India variants and specification are not yet confirmed.

The A5 inherits the A4's job of competing with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class, and arrives with a much-improved cabin and a cleaner interface than the car it replaces. The naming change will confuse buyers for a year, but the product underneath is a genuine step on.
