Toyota just put a ₹31,999 price tag on making your Hyryder blacker. The Aero Black Edition is a Toyota Genuine Accessories pack, not a new engine or a new trim. So the real question isn't what it looks like. It's whether black grille garnishes and a badge are worth ₹32k when a wrap shop does similar for ₹15k.
What's in the ₹31,999 Aero Black pack (and what's not)
You get black-finished exterior bits, nothing under the skin. The list: front grille upper garnish, front spoiler, headlamp garnish, tailgate garnish, rear spoiler, plus an exclusive Aero Black limited-edition badge. The silver strip on the lower front bumper also turns black, and the chrome around the lights and grille goes dark. That's the whole package. No extra power, no new features, no suspension change. This is purely a looks job, so treat it like one when you do the maths.
Which Hyryder grades get it, and the exact price
This is the part many buyers miss: it's G(O) and V only, in Midnight Black. The lower E (₹11.31L) and S (₹12.82L) grades don't qualify for this offer. With the pack, the G(O) petrol MT goes from ₹14.87L to ₹15.19L. The V petrol MT goes from ₹16.42L to ₹16.74L. Both are ex-showroom, so add road tax, registration and insurance for your on-road price (varies by state). The Strong Hybrid G(O) at ₹19.24L is also eligible if you want the blacked-out look on the frugal hybrid.
Aero Black vs last year's Aero Edition: narrower, same money
Toyota ran an Aero Edition pack in October 2025 at the exact same ₹31,999. But that one was wider. It covered all Hyryder grades and four colours (white, silver, black, red), with front and rear spoilers and side skirts. This new Aero Black is locked to a single colour and only G(O) and V trims. So you pay the same money for less choice. The trade-off: this pack adds the black grille, headlamp and tailgate garnishes the old kit didn't have. Think of it as a new styling flavour under a familiar Aero name, not an upgrade.
Strong Hybrid in Aero Black: the 27.97 kmpl and tax angle
The pack works on the Strong Hybrid too, and that's the version worth understanding. Strong hybrid means the car can drive on the electric motor alone at low city speeds, with the 1.5L petrol engine kicking in on acceleration. No plug needed, the battery recharges itself while braking (regen). ARAI-rated mileage is 27.97 kmpl (a government test, always higher than real driving). Expect roughly 20-22 kmpl in real city use, which is strong for a petrol SUV. The hybrid costs a big premium (G(O) hybrid ₹19.24L vs G(O) petrol ₹14.87L, about ₹4.4L more). But in states like UP, strong hybrids get a full road-tax waiver (around ₹1.8L+), which narrows the real on-road gap a lot. Check your RTO, since this differs by state.
Factory pack vs aftermarket wrap: ₹32k or ₹15k?
Here's the honest bit. A good aftermarket black wrap or accent job can be done for ₹10,000-15,000. So on paper, the factory pack costs roughly double. What ₹32k buys you is peace of mind. Factory-fitted parts stay warranty-safe, you get colour-matched Toyota bits, and there's no hunting for aftermarket panels. Plus the limited-edition badge gives a small resale talking point. But if you're happy with a wrap shop and want to save money, the aftermarket route is cheaper. It comes down to whether you value the factory tag or the savings.
Should you pay ₹32k for black garnishes? The verdict
For most people, this is a taste call, not a value call. If you were already buying a Midnight Black G(O) or V and love the darker look, the pack is easy to justify. Warranty-safe fitment and a badge for ₹32k is fair *paisa vasool* if the look matters to you. If you're budget-tight, skip it and put that ₹32k toward a hybrid upgrade or a wrap later. And if you want the black look but plan to wrap anyway, don't pay twice. Remember: this changes nothing mechanical. The Hyryder still makes 102 bhp on petrol and 114 bhp combined on the hybrid, whether you tick this box or not. Against a Maruti Brezza (₹7.40-13.55L), the Hyryder is pricier and starts higher, but the Brezza has no factory strong hybrid, so it can't match 27.97 kmpl.
