The LX 500d is Lexus's full-size flagship SUV. The 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel makes 304 bhp and 700 Nm through a 10-speed automatic and full-time four-wheel drive. It is built on a ladder frame with real off-road ability, and in India it is a five-seater.
Five variants run from ₹263.57 lakh to ₹292.66 lakh. Three of them differ only in the open-pore wood cabin trim. The Urban and Overtrail have more character of their own, and the Overtrail adds all-terrain tyres and front and rear differential locks. A 25-speaker Mark Levinson system and 10 airbags are fitted throughout.
