Skoda Octavia RS returns at ₹56.69 lakh, now ₹6.70 lakh dearer

The first batch of 100 Octavia RS units sold out in weeks. Now Skoda wants ₹6.70 lakh more for the next 50 cars. Nothing has changed under the bonnet, so the whole story here is the money and the scarcity.

Price hike breakdown: what's the ₹6.70 lakh premium for?

The Octavia RS now costs ₹56.69 lakh (ex-showroom), up from ₹49.99 lakh at its November 2025 launch. That's a jump of ₹6.70 lakh, or 13.4%. Remember, on-road prices will be higher once you add road tax, registration and insurance, and these vary by state. Skoda has not disclosed the reason for the increase. The car still comes to India as a CBU (completely built unit, imported fully assembled), which usually attracts heavy import duty, but the company gave no official explanation for the hike.

Skoda Octavia RS specifications: 261 bhp, 6.4s, unchanged

The mechanicals are exactly the same as the first batch. Under the bonnet sits a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol making 261 bhp (265 PS) and 370 Nm of torque (pulling power). It drives the front wheels through a 7-speed DSG automatic with paddle shifters. It hits 100 km/h from rest in 6.4 seconds (how fast it reaches highway speed), with top speed limited to 250 km/h. Sports suspension, progressive steering, an XDS+ diff lock and a sports exhaust round off the performance kit. This is still the most powerful Octavia ever sold in India.

Skoda Octavia RS colours: Race Blue and Candy White dropped

The new batch comes in just three shades: Mamba Green, Velvet Red and Magic Black. Race Blue and Candy White from the first batch are no longer on offer. On the outside you get Full LED Matrix headlamps with AFS (adaptive lighting that shapes the beam), LED tail lamps with dynamic indicators, gloss black trim and 19-inch anthracite alloys on 225/40 R19 tyres.

Skoda Octavia RS interior: sports seats, Canton audio, big screen

Inside, you get Suedia leather seats with red contrast stitching. The front sports seats are electrically adjustable with memory, heating and even massage. There's a 26.03 cm Virtual Cockpit (digital driver's display), a 32.77 cm touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a Head-Up Display. A 675W Canton system with 11 speakers and a subwoofer handles the music. Three-zone climate control, ambient lighting and wireless charging are all in. And because it's a liftback, boot space is a huge 600 litres, growing to 1,555 litres with the rear seats folded. That's a family's Lonavala luggage sorted, easily.

Octavia RS vs Audi A4, Camry, BYD Seal: where it sits now

After the hike, the RS lands in proper entry-luxury territory. At ₹56.69 lakh, it's about ₹1 lakh above the Audi A4 top variant (₹55.83 lakh) and around ₹7.80 lakh above the Toyota Camry (₹48.89 lakh). It also sits above the BYD Seal, which tops out at ₹53.65 lakh. So you're paying luxury-badge money for a Skoda. But none of these rivals give you 261 bhp and a 6.4-second sprint in a practical liftback that seats a family.

50 units only: warranty and booking reality check

Only 50 cars are coming, and bookings are open now. Deliveries start next week. Given the first batch of 100 sold out fast, this lot won't hang around. The ownership package covers a 4-year/1,00,000 km warranty, 4 years of free roadside assistance and 4 free services. Skoda is pitching this batch as a milestone: the Octavia turns 30 and the RS badge crosses 50 years.

Should you buy the Octavia RS now, or wait?

If you want a fast, practical sedan and can absorb the ₹6.70 lakh jump, book now. There's no cheaper route to this car, and no promise of a third batch. But if you're a value-per-rupee buyer cross-shopping the Audi A4 or Camry, the maths just got harder. At ₹56.69 lakh, the RS is no longer the performance bargain it was in November 2025. This one makes sense for the enthusiast who wants the most powerful Octavia and doesn't mind paying a scarcity premium. Everyone else should pause and compare on-road prices carefully.
