Good news and bad news for Octavia RS fans. Skoda is bringing more units to India, but only 50 this time, down from the 100 it sold last year. And with nearly 350 people already on the waitlist from 2025, new buyers face a near-impossible grab. If you want one, you need to call your dealer today, not next week.
Batch 2: 50 units, 350 people waiting. Who gets one?
Skoda sold out the first batch of 100 Octavia RS units last year. Even then, demand was far higher, with nearly 350 bookings on the books. This new batch brings just 50 cars, which is fewer than even the first lot. Here's the catch: existing bookings from last year get honored first. So the roughly 250 people still waiting will be served before Skoda opens order books to fresh customers. In plain terms, if you're new to the queue, your odds are slim. This is a scarcity crunch, not a fresh launch. Deliveries are expected around the festive season.
Price and colors: ₹49.99 lakh, three shades confirmed.
The first batch launched at ₹49.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and the price is likely to stay around that for batch 2. Remember, this is ex-showroom, so on-road cost adds road tax, registration, and insurance, which varies by state. The car remains a full import (brought in fully built from abroad), so the steep price won't drop. You get three color options this time: Mamba Green, Velvet Red, and Magic Black. That's a tight but classic RS palette, and the green is the signature RS shade.
What you get: 261 bhp, 6.4s 0-100, sports kit unchanged.

That's the most powerful Octavia ever sold here. It does 0-100 kmph in 6.4 seconds (how fast it reaches highway speed) and hits an electronically limited 250 kmph top speed. A 7-speed DSG automatic (a fast-shifting dual-clutch gearbox) with steering-wheel paddles sends power to the front wheels. The same engine sits under the Volkswagen Golf GTI, a second batch of which is also expected here. On the hardware front you get sports suspension, progressive steering, and an XDS+ electronic diff lock for sharper corners. Inside, there's a 26.03 cm Virtual Cockpit, a Head-Up Display, a 32.77 cm touchscreen, and a Canton 675 W 11-speaker sound system. Safety is strong too, with 10 airbags and Level 2 ADAS (safety tech that can brake and steer-assist for you).
Octavia RS vs rivals: Where does ₹49.99 lakh sit?
At ₹49.99 lakh, the Octavia RS slots between the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe (₹45.8–48.2 lakh) and the Audi A4 (₹46.88–55.83 lakh). The BMW is a bit cheaper, but it's rear-wheel-drive only and less practical for family use. The A4 is a comfort-first luxury sedan, not a proper hot sedan like the RS. The BYD Seal (₹41.5–53.65 lakh) is an EV, a very different animal. Honestly, the RS is in a class of its own. No mainstream brand sells a proper performance sedan at this power level under ₹50 lakh. For power-per-rupee, nothing here touches 261 bhp at this price.
Should you book one now or wait for batch 3?

With just 50 units and 250-plus existing waitlisters ahead of you, this will sell out in days, not weeks. Skoda's brand director had said last year the plan was to bring more cars over time, so a batch 3 is possible but not confirmed, and there's no date. The previous-gen RS 245 (limited to 200 units in 2020) sold out in just over a month, so history says demand always outstrips supply. Our take: the Octavia RS is a genuine driver's car, fast, planted, and rare. But at ₹49.99 lakh with almost no chance for new buyers this round, the smart move is to call your dealer today and get on the list. If you're a serious enthusiast who missed the last batch, put your name down now.
