India's best-selling mid-size SUV is getting a full makeover. K3 platform: bigger and roomier than today's Creta
The new Creta shifts to Hyundai-Kia's new K3 platform, the same base as the new Kia Seltos. Hyundai says this architecture is safer and works with multiple powertrains, which is exactly why four engines fit. Spy images point to a longer, wider body with more cabin space. That should mean better knee and shoulder room for a family of five heading to Lonavala. Exact dimensions aren't out yet, so treat the size claims as directional.
Expected price: how much over the current ₹10.91–20.11 lakh?
Hyundai hasn't confirmed pricing. The petrol and diesel variants should stay close to today's ₹10.91–20.11 lakh band, maybe a bit higher after the update. The hybrid will sit on top and carry a premium, likely around ₹2–3 lakh over the equivalent petrol. That could push the fully loaded Creta past ₹22 lakh. On-road prices will be higher still after road tax, registration and insurance, which vary by state.

Spy shots suggest the next Creta will be Hyundai's first software-defined vehicle (SDV) in India, meaning the car's features can be updated over the air like a phone. It's expected to run the Pleos Connect infotainment system, which supports app add-ons and OTA (wireless) updates. Features like ventilated rear seats and a stronger Level 2 ADAS (safety tech that can brake and steer to help you) might make the list, but these aren't confirmed. Should you wait or buy the current Creta now?
If you need a family SUV today, the current Creta is a proven, sorted buy from ₹10.91 lakh, and dealers may offer sweeter deals as the new model nears. But if you want the latest tech and the hybrid's better fuel savings, waiting for early 2027 makes sense. Just know the new one will cost more.
