About the BMW 7 Series
BMW's flagship petrol limousine. Rs 1.95 crore, a 394 bhp inline-six and a rear-seat-first cabin.
The BMW 7 Series is the brand's full-size flagship limousine, sold in India in long-wheelbase form. The 2026 facelift left it with a single 740 M Sport trim, powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol re-tuned to 394 bhp and 540 Nm, driving the rear wheels through an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic. The 740d diesel has been retired, and the all-electric i7 sits alongside it.
It is a chauffeur-focused luxury sedan competing with the top executive saloons, with an Executive Lounge rear seat, a Panoramic Sky Lounge roof, Panoramic iDrive and Integral Active Steering. It is priced at about Rs 1.95 crore ex-showroom.
The BMW 7 Series is BMW India's flagship petrol limousine, and its 2026 facelift (the G70 LCI) went on sale on 11 September 2026 in a single 740 M Sport trim at Rs 1.95 crore ex-showroom. The 3.0-litre inline-six petrol has been re-tuned to 394 bhp and 540 Nm, running through an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic to the rear wheels for a claimed 0-100 kmph in 5.4 seconds and 250 kmph flat out. BMW has retired the 740d diesel, so the range is now petrol-only. The facelift brings the illuminated BMW kidney Iconic Glow grille, crystal headlights, new Star-spoke 905 wheels and a switch to Panoramic iDrive with a free-cut 17.9-inch display on BMW Operating System X, joined by a 14.6-inch front passenger screen and the Panoramic Vision head-up display. The 3,215 mm wheelbase is given over to Executive Lounge rear seating with a powered footrest, under a Panoramic Sky Lounge roof, with Integral Active Steering turning the rear wheels by up to 3.5 degrees to make the car easier to place.
