MG has taken its two flagship EVs upmarket. The M9 luxury van and Cyberster electric roadster now come in Couture Editions, priced at ₹84.94 lakh and ₹87.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Only 50 units of each will be made, so this is about rarity and design, not new hardware.

What's 'Couture' about it: Gaurav Gupta's Serpent Infinity design
MG worked with fashion designer Gaurav Gupta on these editions. His signature Serpent Infinity motif runs through both cars, a design he uses in his fashion collections to signal continuity and strength. MG says the motif appears through hand-finished detailing, embroidery-inspired work, and tonal design touches inside and out. The idea is to bring the craft of couture (high-end custom fashion) into a car cabin. The pair were shown off at Gupta's Light Song showcase in Mumbai, where MG SELECT was the official car partner.
Specs recap: what carries over from the standard M9 and Cyberster
Here's the honest bit. MG has not announced any change to the powertrain (motor and battery), range, or features on either couture edition. So the driving experience stays the same as the standard M9 and Cyberster launched in July 2025. The M9 remains MG's plush electric van built around long-distance luxury travel, while the Cyberster stays a two-seat electric roadster with sharp performance. In short, the extra money buys design exclusivity, not more power or new tech.
Booking and delivery: How to get one
Bookings are open now through MG SELECT dealerships and MG's official website. Both editions are sold only via MG SELECT Experience Centres across 14 cities, so availability is tight from the start. Deliveries begin on 10 August 2026. With production capped at 50 units per model, buyers who want one will have to move quickly. This launch also rides on strong momentum; MG posted record July 2026 wholesales of 8,158 units, with EVs making up over 80% of dispatches.

This one is easy to call. If you're a collector or EV enthusiast who values rarity and a fashion-led design story, the 50-unit cap makes the Couture Edition a genuine talking point. So the design premium is worth it only if that exclusivity means something to you. Everyone else is better off with a regular trim and the cash saved.
