Faridabad polices a highway, and that changes what gets caught

Faridabad Police runs a dedicated traffic police station on NH-44, with jurisdiction running from Badarpur in the north to Sikri in the south. That is a long stretch of national highway inside one district, and it shapes what enforcement here looks like.

Number plate recognition cameras cover NH-19, the Delhi to Agra highway, along with Mathura Road and BPTP Boulevard. These read the plate as the vehicle passes and raise the challan against the registration number. Nobody signals you to the side, and the notice goes to whichever mobile number sits on the registration record, which on a vehicle bought through a dealer is often not the owner’s.

  • NH-19, Delhi to Agra
  • Mathura Road
  • BPTP Boulevard

The stretches with number plate recognition. If your daily route runs along any of them, a challan can arrive without a single interaction.

What the Faridabad traffic wing actually has

Faridabad Police publishes a description of its traffic wing. The equipment list is the useful part, because it tells you how the challans reach you.

32

e-challan machines

4

interceptor vehicles

20

motorcycles

18

zonal officers, ASI rank and above

The wing also runs an ambulance, two cranes and an emergency response vehicle, and the traffic police station on the highway is headed by an inspector with three traffic inspectors posted at checking points along it. Thirty-two handheld machines is the number to hold on to: that is the on-the-ground capacity to raise a challan at the roadside, running alongside cameras that need nobody at all.

What Faridabad books people for

Traffic police figures for January to May 2026 put the district at 2,66,005 challans, with one offence well ahead of the rest.

Violation January to May 2026
All violations 2,66,005
Riding without a helmet 1,13,667
Over-speeding 27,730
Wrong-side driving 23,432
Wrong parking 22,515
Lane violations 22,244

Helmet violations are 43% of the total, which is lower than Karnal’s 81% but still the single largest category. Over-speeding sitting second is the highway showing up in the numbers: it is a far smaller share in districts without a national highway running through them.

Where to check a Faridabad challan

There is no Faridabad-only lookup. A Faridabad challan is a Haryana challan, and the routes are the ones on the Haryana page.

  • Here, by entering the registration number above
  • traffic.haryanapolice.gov.in, Haryana Traffic Police’s own site
  • echallan.parivahan.gov.in, the national system, with no service fee
  • faridabad.haryanapolice.gov.in, the district police site, for contacting the traffic wing directly

E Challan Faridabad: frequently asked questions

Which roads in Faridabad have challan cameras?

Number plate recognition runs on NH-19, the Delhi to Agra highway, as well as Mathura Road and BPTP Boulevard. These read the plate as you pass and raise the challan against the registration number without anyone stopping the vehicle.

How many challans does Faridabad issue?

2,66,005 between January and May 2026 according to traffic police figures, of which 1,13,667 were for riding without a helmet. Over-speeding was second at 27,730, which is higher than you would expect in a district without a national highway running through it.

I was never stopped in Faridabad. Can I still have a challan?

Yes. The cameras on NH-19, Mathura Road and BPTP Boulevard issue without any interaction, and the notice goes to the mobile number on the registration record. If that number belongs to the dealer you bought the vehicle from, which is common, nothing reaches you. Checking by registration number is the reliable way to know.

Is there a Faridabad police website for challans?

Faridabad Police runs faridabad.haryanapolice.gov.in, which describes the traffic wing and is the right place to contact it, but the challan lookup itself is on Haryana Traffic Police’s site at traffic.haryanapolice.gov.in or the national portal at echallan.parivahan.gov.in.

Are Faridabad fines different from the rest of Haryana?

No. Compounding amounts are set at state level, so Faridabad charges what Haryana charges. What is particular to Faridabad is the highway: a traffic police station on NH-44 covering Badarpur to Sikri, and camera coverage on the Delhi to Agra corridor.

My vehicle is registered in Delhi. Can it have a Faridabad challan?

Yes, and on that corridor it is likely. NH-19 carries heavy Delhi traffic and the cameras do not care where a plate was issued. The challan attaches to the vehicle, so searching by registration number finds it whatever state the plate is from.
