Maruti Suzuki has raised the Invicto 8-seater Zeta Plus by ₹25,000 to ₹25.27 lakh from July 2026, while the 7-seater and Alpha Plus stay put.
Key facts
- 7-seat Zeta Plus: ₹24.97 lakh (unchanged)
- 8-seat Zeta Plus: ₹25.27 lakh (up ₹25,000)
- Alpha Plus: ₹28.61 lakh (unchanged)
- Engine: 186 bhp strong hybrid, CVT only
- Mileage: 23.24 kmpl (ARAI)
- All prices ex-showroom
Most carmakers raise prices for all models. Maruti did the opposite. From July 2026, only the 8-seat Invicto Zeta Plus goes up ₹25,000 to ₹25.27 lakh. The 7-seat version stays at ₹24.97 lakh, and the top Alpha Plus is untouched at ₹28.61 lakh. Need that extra seat? Now you pay ₹30,000 more.
What changed (and what didn't)
Only one variant moved. The 8-seat Zeta Plus is now ₹25.27 lakh, up from ₹25.02 lakh, a rise of ₹25,000. The 7-seat Zeta Plus costs ₹24.97 lakh. The top Alpha Plus stays at ₹28.61 lakh. No features or specs changed. All prices are ex-showroom; on-road adds road tax, registration, and insurance, which vary by state.
Why just the 8-seater?
Maruti gave no official reason. This is a tiny 0.99% hike, likely to cover rising input costs where demand is strong; think joint families and airport fleets. In real money, ₹25,000 lifts your EMI by only about ₹500 a month on a 7-year loan at 9%. That won't swing anyone's decision at a ₹25 lakh price point.
How it stacks up vs the Innova Hycross
The Invicto and Toyota Innova Hycross share the same 186 bhp strong hybrid (a hybrid that never needs a plug; the petrol engine and regen braking charge the battery). But the Hycross starts at ₹19.53 lakh, a full ₹5.44 lakh cheaper than the Invicto's ₹24.97 lakh entry. The Invicto premium buys you the Nexa badge and dealer network. The Innova Crysta diesel undercuts too, from ₹19.72 lakh, while the Kia Carens Clavis EV at ₹18 lakh is the budget wildcard for buyers ready to charge.
Buy now or wait?
If you need 8 seats, buy now. The 7-seater could get hit in the next round, so waiting saves you nothing. If you're flexible, the 7-seat Zeta Plus at ₹24.97 lakh is suddenly ₹30,000 cheaper and identical except for the captain's chairs. Better value unless you haul eight people often. The strong hybrid returns 23.24 kmpl (ARAI), which beats diesel running costs, and in UP the 100% road-tax waiver on strong hybrids can save you over ₹1.8 lakh, huge at this price. Hybrids also hold their resale value about 15-20% better than EVs.
