Been waiting for an electric SUV that doesn't force you to give up on space, range or price? The Kia Syros EV is one to keep an eye on. It takes the boxy, upright Kia Syros that Indian buyers already love and drops in a proper long-range electric setup where the petrol and diesel engines used to be. Bookings are already open, and Kia reveals the price on 23 July 2026.
Range, charging & powertrain
There are two battery packs to pick from. The 42 kWh Standard Range is ARAI-rated for 443 km. Go for the 51.4 kWh Extended Range and that climbs to a claimed 526 km, which is among the best in this class. In everyday driving you can expect a realistic 350 to 420 km. Charging is quick too. A 100 kW DC fast charger gets you from 10 to 80 percent in about 39 minutes, while an 11 kW home wall box tops it up fully overnight in 4 to 5 hours. You also get V2L (Vehicle-to-Load), so the car can run your appliances directly. Power peaks at 169 bhp with 255 Nm of instant torque.
Design & exterior
The Syros EV holds on to its tall, boxy SUV look. Up front sit Kia's Signature Digital Tiger Face, Star Map LED lighting and slim vertical tail lamps. At 3,995 mm long on a 2,550 mm wheelbase, it stays easy to live with in the city while feeling roomy inside. R17 crystal-cut alloys, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, glossy black roof rails and puddle lamps add the finishing touches.

Interior & technology
Step inside and the Syros EV feels a class above its price tag. The showpiece is a 30-inch Trinity panoramic display, backed up by 64-colour ambient lighting and a tidy column-mounted shift-by-wire selector. Handy for Indian summers, it also gets ventilated front and rear seats, which is a first in this segment. Round that off with a Harman Kardon 8-speaker system, a wireless charger, a 4-way powered driver's seat and 60:40 split-reclining rear seats.

Key features & safety
There is a lot packed in here. You get best-in-class range, 39-minute fast charging, Level 2 ADAS with 16 features, a 360-degree camera and a 25-item Hi-Safety package with 6 airbags. That is the sort of kit usually reserved for much pricier cars. Kia also backs it with a lifetime warranty on the high-voltage battery.

Variants & expected prices
There are seven variants split across the two battery packs. HTK, HTK+ and HTX run the 42 kWh pack, while the four ER (Extended Range) trims get the 51.4 kWh pack. The prices below are tentative for now. Kia announces the official ex-showroom prices on 23 July 2026.
| Variant | Battery | Range | Expected price |
|---|---|---|---|
| HTK | 42 kWh | 443 km | ₹13.99 L |
| HTK+ | 42 kWh | 443 km | ₹14.69 L |
| HTX | 42 kWh | 443 km | ₹15.49 L |
| HTK+ ER | 51.4 kWh | 526 km | ₹16.49 L |
| HTX ER | 51.4 kWh | 526 km | ₹17.49 L |
| HTX+ ER | 51.4 kWh | 526 km | ₹18.49 L |
| X-Line ER | 51.4 kWh | 526 km | ₹18.99 L |
So which one should you buy? For mostly city use, the HTX (42 kWh) is the value sweet spot. If you do longer drives, the HTX+ ER adds the bigger battery, ventilated seats and Harman Kardon audio. And if you simply want everything, the X-Line ER is the fully loaded, ADAS-equipped flagship. You can check the full Kia Syros EV specifications, colours and 360-degree view on its page.
Colours
The Syros EV is offered in nine monotone shades. Xclusive Matte Graphite is reserved for the top X-Line ER.
