Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLS Night Edition Launched in India from ₹1.05 Crore
Mercedes-Benz India introduces exclusive Night Edition variants for GLE and GLS SUVs on 21 May 2026, featuring blacked-out styling, premium equipment, and powerful petrol and diesel engines.
Mercedes-Benz India launched the GLE and GLS Night Edition variants on 21 May 2026, expanding its luxury SUV portfolio with exclusive styling and equipment packages. The new editions bring dark, sophisticated aesthetics to two of the brand's most popular SUVs in India.
The GLE Night Edition is available in two powertrain options: the GLE 300d Night Edition powered by a diesel engine, priced at ₹1.05 crore, and the GLE 450 Night Edition featuring a petrol engine, priced at ₹1.14 crore, ex-showroom. Both variants come equipped with a 2999 cc engine configuration, delivering refined performance and Mercedes-Benz's signature luxury experience.
The Night Edition package typically includes blacked-out exterior elements such as darkened chrome trim, black alloy wheels, smoked LED headlamps and tail-lamps, and black exterior mirrors. Inside, the cabin features dark upholstery, premium leather, ambient lighting, and the latest MBUX infotainment system with touchscreen controls, digital instrumentation, and connected car technology.
Both the GLE and GLS are locally assembled at Mercedes-Benz's Chakan facility near Pune, helping keep prices competitive in the luxury SUV segment. The Night Edition variants compete against rivals such as the BMW X5, Audi Q7, Range Rover Sport, and Volvo XC90 in India's growing luxury SUV market.
Mercedes-Benz India has been aggressive in launching new variants and special editions to cater to Indian buyers' preferences for exclusivity and personalisation. The Night Edition variants offer a compelling proposition for buyers seeking distinctive styling without opting for full AMG performance models.
What it means for Indian buyers: The Night Edition variants provide an exclusive, sportier aesthetic at a slight premium over standard models, appealing to luxury SUV buyers who want their vehicles to stand out. Local assembly ensures competitive pricing and better after-sales support compared to CBU imports.
