Honda City Facelift and ZR-V Hybrid Launched in India at ₹12 Lakh and ₹40-50 Lakh
Honda launches the 2026 City facelift with ventilated seats and hybrid option, alongside the flagship ZR-V Hybrid SUV as CBU import to rival Tiguan and Kodiaq in premium segment.
Honda Cars India officially launched two major products on 22 May 2026—the refreshed City sedan and the all-new ZR-V Hybrid SUV, marking an aggressive push in the Indian market.
The 2026 Honda City facelift receives its second major update for the fifth-generation model, following the 2023 facelift. Changes on the exterior remain subtle, with revisions to headlights, tail-lamps, bumpers, and alloy wheels. The bigger upgrades come inside the cabin, where Honda has added a powered driver's seat, ventilated front seats, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and a digital driver's display. A 360-degree camera has also been included to enhance convenience. The sedan continues with the proven 121 bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 126 bhp strong hybrid powertrain, paired with their respective gearbox options. Prices start at ₹12 lakh, ex-showroom, making it accessible to family sedan buyers across India.
The Honda ZR-V serves as the brand's new flagship SUV for India and arrives as a completely built unit (CBU) import. Expected to be priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹50 lakh, ex-showroom, the ZR-V will rival premium five-seat SUVs such as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq Lounge variant. The ZR-V will likely feature hybrid powertrain technology, setting it apart from diesel-powered competitors. This launch kicks off a new wave of premium halo models from Honda, underlining the Japanese carmaker's heightened focus and seriousness in the Indian market after years of modest performance.
Both launches signal Honda's intent to diversify its portfolio beyond the City and Amaze, offering Indian buyers a wider range from affordable hybrids to premium lifestyle SUVs.
What it means for Indian buyers: The City facelift brings hybrid efficiency at accessible prices, while the ZR-V offers a unique hybrid alternative in the premium SUV space dominated by diesel rivals. Both models strengthen Honda's credentials as a technology-forward brand in India.
