Skoda is preparing to expand its India portfolio with the performance-oriented Kodiaq RS, expected to arrive by June 2026. This will be the first-ever RS-badged SUV from Skoda to go on sale in India, positioned as the flagship variant above the standard Kodiaq.

The Kodiaq RS will arrive as a completely-built unit (CBU) import, which means it will command a premium over locally-assembled variants. Internationally, the Kodiaq RS features a substantially retuned 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 60 bhp and 80 Nm more than the regular Kodiaq. This enhanced powertrain is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) that channels power to all four wheels via Skoda's all-wheel-drive system.

Visually, the Kodiaq RS distinguishes itself from the standard model through several sporty design cues. It gets a blacked-out grille, a more aggressive front bumper design, sportier-looking 20-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers, and RS-specific badging. The exterior changes give it a more muscular and athletic stance compared to the regular Kodiaq.

Inside, the cabin features an all-black theme with red accent stitching and trim elements. The front seats are more supportive with integrated headrests, tailored for spirited driving. The Kodiaq RS retains the practicality of the standard model, including its three-row seating configuration and generous boot space, making it a practical performance SUV for families.

Pricing details have not been officially announced, but as a CBU import with performance credentials, the Kodiaq RS is expected to be positioned significantly higher than the standard Kodiaq, likely in the ₹45-50 lakh range (ex-showroom). It will target buyers seeking a blend of everyday usability and weekend performance.

What it means for Indian buyers: The Kodiaq RS brings a rare combination of seven-seat practicality and performance credentials to the Indian market. While the CBU route means higher pricing, it offers enthusiasts a European performance SUV alternative to the mainstream options in this segment.
