2026 Honda City Facelift Launched at ₹12 Lakh, Gets Ventilated Seats and Larger Touchscreen
Honda has launched the 2026 City facelift in India starting at ₹12 lakh ex-showroom. The updated sedan receives ventilated front seats, a larger touchscreen, powered driver's seat, and revised styling.
Honda Cars India has officially launched the 2026 City facelift on 22nd May at a starting price of ₹12 lakh ex-showroom, extending to ₹21 lakh for the top-spec hybrid variant. This marks the second major update for the fifth-generation sedan following the first facelift in 2023.
The exterior changes are relatively modest, comprising revised headlights and tail-lamps, updated front and rear bumpers, and redesigned alloy wheel patterns. The focus of this facelift lies predominantly in the cabin upgrades and feature additions that enhance comfort and convenience for Indian buyers.
Key interior improvements include the addition of ventilated front seats, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a new fully digital driver's display, and a powered driver's seat with memory function. Honda has also integrated a 360-degree camera system to aid parking in tight urban spaces. The updates address feedback from existing City owners who sought more premium features to justify the sedan's price positioning.
Powertrain options remain unchanged, with the City continuing to offer a 121 bhp 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with either a six-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. The hybrid variant retains the 126 bhp e:HEV system that combines a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with electric motors, delivering exceptional fuel efficiency of approximately 26 km/l in real-world conditions.
The City facelift is available across four broad variant lines: SV, V, ZX, and ZX Plus, with the hybrid powertrain offered exclusively in the top ZX Plus trim. Honda aims to strengthen the City's position against rivals including the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
What it means for Indian buyers: The 2026 City facelift brings meaningful upgrades that enhance everyday usability, particularly ventilated seats and a 360-degree camera for Indian driving conditions. At ₹12 lakh starting price, it remains competitively positioned whilst the hybrid variant at ₹21 lakh offers exceptional fuel economy for buyers prioritising running costs. Honda's proven reliability and strong resale value continue to make the City a sensible choice in the compact sedan segment.
