About the Hector Hawk
The MG Hector Hawk is an upcoming seven-seat SUV that MG is expected to introduce with a choice of plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains. The plug-in hybrid pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 20.5 kWh battery for a claimed 100–125 km of electric-only running, while the electric version uses a 69.3 kWh pack for a claimed 530 km range. Seven- and six-seat layouts are expected, the latter with captain chairs.
Expert Take — should you wait for it?
Offering both a plug-in hybrid and a full EV in one seven-seater is unusual at this price, and the PHEV's claimed 100–125 km of electric range covers most weekday driving without committing buyers to charging infrastructure. Much will depend on final pricing against established seven-seat rivals, and on how much of the equipment list survives to the entry Shine trim.
