Udaipur vintage car museum
Udaipur, a place known for its grand forts, castles, and pristine lake is a city in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. Udaipur was founded on 1559. There are also many royal palaces there that have been converted into luxurious hotels. Moving away from these grand forts Udaipur is also known for it’s the vintage car museum which makes an interesting diversion for the car lovers.
The museum is a collection of vintage models used by the Mewar dynasty of Udaipur. The Mewar dynasty was known for its richest Rajput rulers, leading a luxurious life and if you want to have a tiny glimpse of it then you should visit this museum to see the Rolls Royce and Mercedes models.
You will be surprised to know that Mewar family used to custom-made their cars. This museum was inaugurated by Lord Montagu of Beaulieu on February 15, 2000. One of the eye catching display is 1934 Rolls Royce Phantom, which was used in the famous James Bond movie.
It is found on the Gulab Bagh Road. Its near Gulab Bagh Zoo. Along with a landmark its also a place where you can have fun. The museum is at the 10 minutes walking distance.
History of vintage car museum
It was inaugurated by the founder of the National Motor Museum, Lord Montagu of Beaulieu on 15th February 2000. This museum was owned by Rana Shri Arvind Singh ji Mewar.
Entry fees, timings, and best time to visit
This museum opens at 9 am and closes at 9 in the evening and the price of tickets for adults is Rs.250 and Rs.150 for children.
Museums are always called a box of treasure so you can visit there any time but the best time to explore this place is between October and March.
What to do there?
If you are a car lover then this place is a heaven for you. This place gives a brief insight into the luxurious life of the Royal family. To complete the experience there is Shell Petrol pump and a café.
There is a day in a week when one of the members of this Royal family drives this vintage car. If you are lucky one then you can spot this.

- Rolls Royce 1924
This was the model of 1924. Its fuel efficiency is 14 Gallons. Its engine is G 1135. This car won the Classic Award in best of the class category at the carrier Concours D Elegance2008 in Mumbai. This car was also won the “ The Lucius Beebe Trophy”.
