Tata Motors has unveiled the facelifted versions of both the Tiago ICE and Tiago EV, marking a significant mid-cycle refresh for one of India's most popular entry-level hatchback offerings. The updates bring both models in line with Tata's evolving design philosophy whilst maintaining their value-for-money positioning.

The facelifted Tiago models feature a thoroughly updated exterior design that represent

s more than just minor tweaks. The front fascia receives a redesigned grille, new headlamp clusters with updated LED daytime running lights, and a revised bumper design that lends a more modern appearance. The sides feature new alloy wheel designs on higher variants, whilst the rear gets updated tail-lamp graphics and a refreshed bumper.

According to early reports, whilst the exterior changes are comprehensive, the interior updates are expected to be relatively minor. Tata may introduce new upholstery options, updated trim elements, and possibly some feature additions, but the overall dashboard architecture and layout are likely to remain familiar to current Tiago owners.

The Tiago continues to offer petrol and CNG powertrain options, whilst the Tiago EV retains its electric drivetrain. No major mechanical changes are expected, with both models carrying over their existing powertrains. The current Tiago starts at approximately ₹5.65 lakh whilst the Tiago EV begins around ₹7.99 lakh (ex-showroom prices vary by city).

The facelifts arrive at an important time as Tata seeks to maintain the Tiago's strong position against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and Renault Kwid in the hotly contested budget hatchback segment.

What it means for Indian buyers: The Tiago facelift demonstrates Tata's commitment to keeping its entry-level products fresh and competitive. For first-time car buyers and those seeking affordable, reliable transportation, the updated design adds visual appeal without significantly increasing costs. The Tiago EV facelift remains particularly relevant as it's one of the most affordable electric hatchbacks in India, making EV ownership accessible to a broader audience. The minor interior changes suggest Tata is focusing on maintaining affordability whilst refreshing the external appeal.
