Honda City Facelift Launches at ₹12 Lakh with Updated Features and Hybrid Option
Honda launches the 2026 City facelift in India with refreshed design, improved interior features including ventilated seats and larger touchscreen, retaining 1.5L petrol and hybrid powertrains.
Honda Cars India has launched the 2026 City facelift, marking the second major update for the fifth-generation sedan since its first facelift in 2023. The updated sedan starts at ₹12 lakh, ex-showroom.
The exterior changes are relatively subtle, with revisions to the headlights, tail-lamps, bumpers and newly-designed alloy wheels. The grille has been slightly updated to give the City a fresher appearance whilst maintaining its signature elegant design language.
The bigger changes are found inside the cabin, where Honda has added several premium features to enhance the ownership experience. Key additions include a powered driver's seat, ventilated front seats, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and a digital driver's display. The sedan also gets a 360-degree camera system, addressing a long-standing customer demand in this segment.
Under the bonnet, the City facelift continues with the proven 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 121 bhp, paired with either a manual or CVT automatic transmission. The strong-hybrid e:HEV variant remains available, delivering 126 bhp and offering significantly better fuel efficiency for those seeking lower running costs. Both powertrains carry forward their respective gearbox pairings from the outgoing model.
The City facelift was launched on 22nd May 2026 alongside Honda's new flagship SUV, the ZR-V. With these launches, Honda is demonstrating renewed commitment to the Indian market after a relatively quiet period.
What it means for Indian buyers: The City facelift brings meaningful feature upgrades whilst retaining the sedan's core strengths of reliability, refinement and strong resale value. The hybrid option continues to be an attractive proposition for buyers seeking excellent fuel economy without compromising on performance, particularly in urban commuting conditions where the electric motor assists frequently.
