Honda City Facelift Launched in India at ₹12.04 Lakh with Updated Features
Honda launches the 2026 City facelift, the fifth-generation sedan's second major update. It brings revised styling, enhanced features like ventilated seats and a larger touchscreen, while retaining proven petrol and hybrid powertrains.
Honda Cars India has launched the facelifted 2026 City sedan at a starting price of ₹12.04 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks the second major update for the fifth-generation City, following the first facelift in 2023.
The exterior changes are subtle but effective, with revisions to the headlights, tail-lamps, bumpers and newly-designed alloy wheels. The front grille has also been slightly updated to give the sedan a fresher appearance whilst maintaining the City's established design language.
Inside the cabin, Honda has focused on adding features that Indian buyers demand. The update includes a larger touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, a powered driver's seat, a new digital driver's display, and a 360-degree camera. These additions position the City more competitively against rivals like the Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Virtus.
Under the bonnet, the City continues with its proven powertrain options. The 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 121 bhp, while the strong-hybrid variant delivers 126 bhp. Both engines retain their respective gearbox pairings, offering buyers a choice between conventional petrol and fuel-efficient hybrid technology. The hybrid variant remains particularly attractive given rising fuel costs in urban areas.
The sedan is available across multiple variants to cater to different budget segments. Honda is betting on the City's strong reputation for reliability, low running costs and good resale value to maintain its position in the increasingly competitive mid-size sedan segment.
What it means for Indian buyers: The updated City offers compelling value with its enhanced feature list whilst maintaining Honda's reputation for build quality and low maintenance costs. The hybrid option makes particular sense for buyers covering high monthly mileage, offering substantially better fuel economy without compromising on performance or practicality.
